My Training Method

Here are four simple concepts based on the biology of domestication that will help your dog feel confident and social.

Personal Space

It’s important for your dog to recognize your personal space in order for them to be in a juvenile state and recognize you, the owner, as a parent.

Leash Work

When your dog agrees to follow you, like a duckling to its mother, they have no concern for their safety. Using the leash supports this concept and encourages your dog’s desire to socialize.

Recall

Working on your dog’s ability to come when called keeps them safe and helps you be recognized as a parent from a distance. Using a long tether provides the dog with a physical connection to the sound of your voice.

Socialize

Introducing two dogs can be tough. The confident dog will have a desire to be friendly with other dogs, while the anxious dog will run away or fight. By helping your dog feel parented, they will naturally be social with other dogs.
